Filmsys Privacy Policy

1. What Information Do We Collect?

Filmsys has a privacy-focused design. The information we collect is at the minimum level necessary to provide the service.

a) Information You Provide

Filmsys does not collect any personal information that could directly identify you, such as your name, email address, or phone number. You do not need to create an account or enter personal information to use the Application.

b) Automatically Collected Information

• Anonymous Identifier (Anonymous ID): When you first install the Application on your device, a completely random and anonymous identity is created that does not personally identify you. This identity is used solely to track your credit balance and is stored on your device.
• Credit Information: The amount of credits you purchase is stored on secure cloud servers (Supabase) in association with your Anonymous ID.
• Selected Film Data: Information about the 3 films you select (e.g., film names) to receive film recommendations is used during the recommendation generation process. This information is not stored on our servers.

2. How Do We Use the Information?

We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:

• To Provide the Service: We use your Anonymous ID and credit information to manage the credits you purchase and provide you with film recommendation services.
• To Generate Film Recommendations: We use the information of the 3 films you select to send to the artificial intelligence model (OpenAI API) to provide you with personalized recommendations. This film data is not stored by us after this process is completed.
• To Process Payments: In-app purchase transactions are managed by trusted third-party payment processors (Apple and RevenueCat). We do not see or store your payment information.

3. Who Do We Share Information With?

We never sell your data. However, to enable the application to function, we need to share your data with trusted third-party service providers:

• Supabase: The cloud database provider we use to securely store your Anonymous ID and credit balance.
• OpenAI: We send information about the 3 films you select to the artificial intelligence API to generate recommendations for you. During this sharing, your Anonymous ID or any other data that could identify you is not sent to OpenAI. You can review OpenAI's own privacy policy for their data practices.
• Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat: Used to manage and verify your credit purchase transactions. These services are subject to their own privacy policies.

4. Data Storage and Security

On Your Device (Local):

Your Anonymous ID, selected films, and recommendations presented to you are stored only on your device.

On Server (Remote):

Only your Anonymous ID and associated credit balance are stored on Supabase servers.

Data Deletion:

When you delete the Application from your device, all data stored on your device (including Anonymous ID) is permanently deleted. This process also breaks the connection with credit information stored on the server and makes it impossible to access these credits.

I use trusted service providers that take industry-standard security measures to ensure the security of your data.

5. Your Data Rights

Due to the anonymous nature of the Application, traditional account rights such as "viewing information" or "correction" cannot be directly applied. However, your most basic right is:

Right to Delete:

By deleting the Application from your device, you can ensure that all local data belonging to you and the connection with data on the server is permanently removed.

6. Children's Privacy

This application is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age.

7. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will take effect when the new policy is published on this page. It is recommended that you check this page regularly for changes.
