Filmsys Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Filmsys is a mobile application that provides users with personalized new film recommendations based on the films they select. The basic operation of the service is as follows:

• Users add 3 films and their opinion (likes and dislikes) about this film.
• Users select 3 films to request 3 new film recommendations based on these selections by using "Credits."
• Recommendations are generated using artificial intelligence technology and presented to users within the Application.

2. Anonymous ID and Data Management

The Application does not require an account creation process that requires you to provide personal information. Instead:

• When you first launch the Application, a unique and anonymous identity ("Anonymous ID") is automatically created for your device.
• Data such as the films you select and the recommendations presented to you are stored locally only on your device.
• For service management purposes, only your Anonymous ID and the Credit balance associated with this ID are securely stored on Supabase servers, a cloud-based database service. No other information that could personally identify you is stored on the servers except for these two pieces of data.

3. Credits, Purchases, and Refunds

Credits:

You need "Credits" to receive film recommendations. Credits can be obtained through In-App Purchases.

Payment Processing:

All purchase transactions are conducted through Apple's App Store system (IAP) and managed through the RevenueCat platform. As a developer, I do not see, collect, or store your credit card or payment information.

Refund Policy:

All sales are final. Refund requests for in-app purchases are subject to Apple App Store's own policies and must be managed directly through Apple.

CREDIT DELETION WARNING:

Your credits are tied to the Anonymous ID created on your device. If you delete the Application from your device, your Anonymous ID will also be permanently deleted, and you will lose access to all credits you have purchased. It is technically impossible to restore credits or transfer them to another device after deletion. The Application Developer cannot be held responsible for losses resulting from this situation.

4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

Certain third-party services are utilized for the functionality of the Application. By using the Application, you also accept the terms of service and privacy policies of these services:

• Supabase: Used for storing Anonymous ID and credit data.
• RevenueCat & Apple IAP: Used to manage in-app purchases.
• OpenAI: Used as an artificial intelligence infrastructure to generate film recommendations. During this process, information about the 3 films you select is sent to OpenAI's API for recommendation generation. During this transmission, your Anonymous ID or any other data that could identify you is not shared with OpenAI. To understand how OpenAI processes this data, please review OpenAI's current Privacy Policy. Your use of the Application means you consent to your film data being sent to OpenAI for this purpose.

5. User Responsibilities

When using the Application, you agree not to:

• Use the Application for illegal purposes or purposes not permitted by these Terms.
• Attempt to decode, reverse engineer, or modify the Application's source code.
• Engage in any actions that could harm or overload the Application's servers or networks.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights to the Application itself, including its interface, design, brand, logos, and original content, belong to Yusuf Şahan Tarhan and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

7. Termination of Terms

In the event that you violate these Terms, I reserve the right to immediately terminate or suspend your access to the Application without notice.

You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting the Application from your device. However, provisions that by their nature should continue to be valid, such as Sections 3, 5, 6, 8, and 9, will remain in effect after termination.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties (Legal Liability Disclaimer)

The Application is provided to you "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." The Application Developer makes no express or implied warranties that the application will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or always available. No warranty is provided regarding the accuracy, quality, or appeal of recommended films.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Application Developer Yusuf Şahan Tarhan shall not be liable under any circumstances for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from (a) your use or inability to use the Application; (b) any content obtained through the Application; (c) data loss including deletion of credits.

10. Changes to Terms

I reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect from the moment they are published on this page. Your continued use of the Application after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
